
The Atlanta Braves are coming off a series win over the Boston Red Sox over the weekend. The Braves are off today before a three-game series with the Washington Nationals. They will start the series with right-handed pitcher Spencer Strider getting the ball. He returns from a hamstring injury. To make room for Strider, they optioned left-handed pitcher Dylan Dodd to Triple-A Gwinnett. Strider this season in his lone start is 0-1, going five innings, giving up two runs on five hits. He walked one and struck out five. Dodd didn’t appear in a game during his time with the Braves this season. In 16 games at Triple-A, he went 11- with a 5.74 ERA, a 1.30 WHIP, and 21 strikeouts in 15.2 innings. The Braves also announced today that they have released Garrett Cooper and Jordan Weems.

Spencer Strider
Strider has made 68 career appearances with 55 of those coming as starts, going 32-11 with a 3.47 ERA, a 1.07 WHIP, and 500 strikeouts in 334.2 innings. He finished second in Rookie of the Year voting in 2022. Strider was also an All-Star in 2023 and finished fourth in Cy Young voting that season.
Dylan Dodd
Dodd has made eight career big league appearances with seven of those coming as starts. He is 2-2 with a 7.68 ERA, a 1.93 WHIP, and 17 strikeouts in 36.1 innings. Garrett Cooper

Weems in 14 games with Triple-A is 1-1 with a 5.09 ERA, a 1.64 WHIP, and 18 strikeouts in 17.2 innings.
